Recovery Programmes

Within a safe, structured and caring setting away from the influence of alcohol our eclectic care philosophy encourages the discovery of the positive aspects of character that can help to restore individual self-esteem and confidence.
 

Francis House offers two Recovery Programmes. These two programmes allow for varying lengths of placement and levels of intervention.  Through both programmes the aim is for clients to abstain from alcohol whilst engaging in a successful recovery; which intern helps the client to gain a healthier independence of living away from the need for alcohol.

Alcohol Dependant

The Alcohol Dependent Programme is tailored for men with alcohol dependence. This placement is for a minimum of 12 weeks and the client must have been through a supervised detox prior to admission. Within the 12 weeks the client will have access to all facilities and activities, be assigned a key worker, attend weekday discussion groups, work with a personal trainer to create a bespoke exercise programme, have one to one counselling and meetings with Care staff to complete a full care plan, relapse prevention plan and in the last month a discharge plan to help with integration back into the community. *

Alcohol Respite Recovery Programme

The Alcohol Respite Recovery Programme is for men with a lesser alcohol dependency. This programme is aimed towards men wanting a respite from alcohol and daily pressures, whilst being supported to forge healthier lifestyle patterns. The client must be dry on admission however for this lesser degree of dependency, detox may not be needed.**

Francis house offers a minimum placement of 2 weeks. During this 2 week placement, clients can choose to lengthen their stay.

2-4 Week Programme

Within the Two- Four-week Alcohol Respite Recovery Programme clients will have access to all facilities and activities, be assigned a key worker, attend weekday discussion groups and care staff will work with the client to complete a relapse prevention plan and discharge plan to help with integration back into the community. *

5-8 & 9-12 Week Programme

Within the Five – Eight and Nine – Twelve-week Alcohol Respite Recovery Programmes, clients will have access to all facilities and activities, be assigned a key worker, attend weekday discussion groups, work with a personal trainer to create a bespoke gym workout programme, have one to one counselling and meetings with Care staff to complete a full care plan, relapse prevention plan and in the last month a discharge plan to help with integration back into the community. *

When choosing the length of placement, clients need to be honest about their level of alcohol dependency to allow themselves the best chance for a successful recovery from alcoholism.

*It is Francis House Policy for all clients to stay onsite for the first 2 weeks of placement. After which clients will be risk assessed for the twice-weekly town visits and monthly outing.

**An assessment prior to admission will be conducted to determine whether detox is needed.
